This whimsical A5 sardine tin art from the Magic in the Mundane series has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker.

This sardine tin drawing captures the imagination that inspired the Magic in Mundane collection. It hints at a whimsical world where little is what it seems. This sardine tin art uses a blue colour pallet with vibrant yellow that catches the eye. The stack of four sardine tins are filled with rolling seas, vintage sailing ships, and sea creatures that swim within the tiny tin worlds.

The Nonsense Maker's sardine tin art print is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our kitchen wall art prints are printed on the highest quality paper with fade-resistant pigment ink, giving them the same life span as a painting.

Wall art prints are an expression of yourself and are the perfect way to make a space uniquely your own. Framed art is about finding the right balance of size, colour and composition, and it can be tricky. If you are feeling a little lost on how to frame art prints, check out our blog page for our best tips for decorating with wall art.

The Nonsense Maker’s Australian art prints are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While the handmade greeting cards have much less detail, wall art prints can take up to 60 hours to create. Each of The Nonsense Maker’s wall art prints come packaged with a vintage book inspired backing board, and a short story of the inspiration behind the piece.
