This fun ‘Number Seven’ seventh birthday greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a number seven shape segmented into four different floors of a building. On each floor tiny people are celebrating and having parties in their own festive ways. Each level is a different bright colour with bold red windows and black and white checked floors. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this seventh birthday card has a vibrant colour palette, using mostly bold blue, yellow, orange and green, with multicoloured details.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Number Seven’ seventh birthday card is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our birthday cards are ethically printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.

We often have customers let us know they love our greeting cards but struggle to think of things to write in them, and they are certainly not alone there! Check out our blog page for our top tips on what to write in a birthday card.

The Nonsense Maker’s unique birthday card designs are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While The Nonsense Maker’s art prints often have finer details, the birthday cards and quirky stationery are usually an easy cheerful expression designed to bring a smile to your face.
