This botanical wall art print titled ‘Overgrown Stories’ from the Overgrown collection has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. Available in A4 and A3 size, the highly detailed drawing portrays a vintage book on nutrition and growth. Based on a real life antique plant book the image contrasts human knowledge with the ever changing world of nature. The book is seen covered in vines to represent the fact that nature is not constrained by knowledge in the same way that humans are. The dark navy background contrasts the white pages of the book making the juxtaposition even more prevalent. This botanical wall art will add a sense of calm to your home, making it the perfect plant wall art for your room.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Overgrown Stories’ art print is hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers. Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the plant wall art print design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our art prints are printed on the highest quality FSC certified paper with fade-resistant pigment ink, giving them the same life span as a painting.

Plant wall art prints are an expression of yourself and are the perfect way to make a space uniquely your own. Framed art is about finding the right balance of size, colour and composition, and it can be tricky. If you are feeling a little lost on how to frame art prints, check out our blog page for our best tips for decorating with wall art.

The Nonsense Maker’s Australian art prints are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While the handmade greeting cards have much less detail, botanical wall art prints can take up to 60 hours to create. Each of The Nonsense Maker’s plant wall art prints come packaged with a vintage book inspired backing board, and a short story of the inspiration behind the piece.
