This playful ‘Teacup of Sydney’ all occasion greeting card has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a Sydney inspired teacup featuring the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. Two people fish off the side of the cup, while little sailboats circle around the saucer. The teabag label hanging to the side says “Sydney dreaming”. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this Aussie greeting card has a light colour palette, using shades of blue, brown, and pastel red, green, and yellow.

The Nonsense Maker’s ‘Teacup of Sydney’ Aussie teacup greeting card is sustainably hand made in Melbourne using all Australian suppliers.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our Australian greeting cards are ethically printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.

We often have customers let us know they love our Australian greeting cards but struggle to think of things to write in them, and they are certainly not alone there! Check out our blog page for our top tips on what to write in a greeting card.

The Nonsense Maker’s unique Australian greeting card designs are imagined from a fun and whimsical world where dreaming meets reality. Sometimes silly and sometimes sad, inspired by etching techniques used by old time illustrators. While The Nonsense Maker’s art prints often have finer details, the Australian greeting cards and quirky stationery are usually an easy cheerful expression designed to bring a smile to your face.
