The highly detailed drawing portrays block letters spelling out SANTA CLAUS formed out of red brick chimneys. Cheeky little Santas climb in and around the chimneys. Hand lettered cursive font below the illustration says “is coming to town”. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this quirky Aussie Christmas card has a rich colour palette, using brown, vibrant red and white.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally.
