Baby Carousel - Card for Newborn

This playful ‘Baby Carousel’ card for newborn babies has been hand illustrated using fine liner pens, digitally coloured, and printed in Melbourne by The Nonsense Maker. The highly detailed drawing portrays a vintage amusement park style carousel with two rocking horses, and block letters spelling the word BABY on the surrounding poles. Inspired by a dreamlike world where little is what it seems, this newborn card has a pastel colour palette, using light blues, pastel orange, cream and hints of pink and purple.

Beginning with a pencil sketch before moving to pen, a method called crosshatching is used to create the depth and the tone you see in the final design. This fine line art is then scanned into a computer and coloured digitally. All our baby cards are ethically printed on high quality recycled paper, and our envelopes are 100% recycled.
